Exhibition from 28.02 - 06.04.2025 in the Dortmunder U.
Perceptions are the window to the world - to the things around us, to other people and also to ourselves. We see, hear, smell and feel our world. Do we perceive it as it is, or rather as we want it to be? To what extent is our perception in everyday life influenced by prejudices, thought patterns and prior knowledge? And what consequences does this have for our understanding of the world? How is our image of the world and of ourselves shaped?
Using exciting illusions to look at, touch and try out, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey to the secrets of our perception. The second part is about understanding the world, ourselves and other people. Your own unconscious prejudices can be tested on site.
What does it mean when we are confronted with paradoxes in our thinking? All the exhibits are accompanied by explanations of the theoretical principles and background. PC stations with videos and animations complement the exhibition objects.
The exhibition not only aims to surprise, but also to provide an impetus to reflect on fundamental questions of perception and understanding: www.wie-wir-die-welt-sehen.de
