Vita

Ursula-Kristin Heim is a PhD student at the Chair of Philosophy and History of Science (Lehrstuhl für Wissenschaftstheorie und Wissenschaftsgeschichte), Department of Philosophy I, Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Her research focuses on the history, philosophy and methodology of medical sciences. After having received her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and History as well as her Master’s Degree in Philosophy, she is working on her PhD thesis about the role of the experiment in the production of knowledge in the medical sciences with the focus on an epochal shift to a technoscientific practice in medical research practices. She has been awarded a scholarship by the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) for the duration of her work on the PhD thesis.
