Adrianna Smurzynska is a PhD student at the Jagiellonian University (Cracow, Poland). She is currently working on her thesis on the relation between understanding oneself and others in the mentalization process. She was the recipient of a ETIUDA grant, funded by the National Science Centre Poland (NCN) for a 3-month visiting period at Ruhr-Universität Bochum,
under the supervision of Prof. Albert Newen.

Pankaj Singh is currently a PhD student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, working in the philosophy discipline of the Humanities and Social Sciences Department. The topic of his PhD thesis is Problem-Solving and Situated Cognition: A Perspective from Philosophy of Mind. He connects the intuitions of 4E-cognition with the domain of human problem-solving in order to develop a positive theory of problem-solving that brings the agent-environment interaction to the foreground.

Agostina Vorano is a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). She is carrying out her doctoral studies thanks to a scholarship granted by CONICET. Her current research project is about self-deception and folk-psychological concepts. She is mainly interested in Philosophy of Mind, Epistemology, and Cognitive Psychology.

Carolina is a graduate student in philosophy and cognitive science at Rutgers - New Brunswick. Before that, she studied math and philosophy at Oxford. Her central interests lie in philosophy of mind, with a naturalistic bent and a focus on cognitive architecture and social cognition. She also has interests in philosophy of language (especially pragmatics and communication), social epistemology, and feminist philosophy.

Dr. Prochownik is a philosopher and PhD in law (graduated from the Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland). Currently she works on two research projects: one in philosophy of the cognitive science of religion examining different theories of the association between religion and morality, and another in experimental legal philosophy focusing on the role of causation in responsibility ascriptions.

Stefano Vincini is a PhD student from Memphis University. His main research interests are phenomenology and philosophy of mind. He is investigating the possibilities of transcendental phenomenology by dealing with issues such as intersubjectivity, time-consciousness and the phenomenology of the human being. He combines a phenomenological psychological approach with recent research in developmental psychology and animal cognition in order to examine the validity of specific phenomenological claims. His further research in philosophy of mind enriches the way he can treat ontological and epistemological problems. In June/July 2015, he will be visiting Prof. Newen's department for a second time.

Felipe Carvalho is a PhD candidate from the Jean Nicod Institute in Paris, working under the supervision of Francois Recanati. His main interests lie in the psychology of object perception and the epistemology of perceptual demonstrative reference, and how empirical findings in the former domain guide and constrain philosophical explanations in the latter. He is the recipient of a CIERA scholarship (Centre Interdisciplinaire d'etudes e de recherches sur l'Allemagne) for a 6-month visiting period at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, under the supervision of Prof. Albert Newen.

In 2004, Israel and the German federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia agreed to intensify co-operation in the areas of higher education, research and the transfer of technology. Within this framework, a short-term scholarship program for qualified students from Israel was established. In 2008 the duration of the program has been extended for another five years, until 2013. The program offers the opportunity to undertake studies and research in North Rhine-Westphalia. Therefore, scholars are actively involved in the university's research teams, and they will be able to take an active role in project group activities.

Sarah Vincent is a visiting Humboldt Scholar from University of Memphis. She is currently researching empathic capacities in non-human animals. More broadly, her philosophical interests are philosophy of mind, metaphysics, and philosophy of psychology.
