Final Thesis

Topics

You should discuss the topic of your thesis with your examiner. The Examination Office maintains a list of examplary topics, which you can also feel free to take as your thesis topic.

In addition, you can approach the lecturers during their courses and propose your own topics. You can find a list of authorized examiners here.

Forms to register your thesis

You must register your thesis with the Examination Office before you can begin writing it. To do this, you need to submit Form A and Form B to the Examination Office. You complete Form A together with your examiner.

In order to write your B.A. or M.A. thesis, you must meet the minimum requirements. These are a total of 130 CP (credit points) across your two subjects and the Optionalbereich. Please note that some subjects have additional requirements, such as a minimum number of credit points in the subject or the completion of specific modules.

The minimum requirements are demonstrated using Form B. For Philosophy, you can request the form via the Student Advisory Service contact form.

Further information about registration can be found on the Examination Office’s information page on registering final theses.
