Hints for writing the internship report
The report should be clearly structured in several sections.
- In the introduction, describe your personal demands and expectations that you associate/have associated with the internship. Briefly explain how you became aware of the field of work and how you got your internship position (How did you get in touch with the internship provider and how did you apply? Why did you choose this particular internship?).
- In the main part 1 you should include information about the internship institution; name and location of the organisation, institution or company where you completed the internship. In addition, briefly describe the organisation’s work and purpose. You should also give a precise indication of the period during which you worked.
- In the main part 2, you should describe and discuss your work requirements and experiences: give detailed descriptions of the areas of activity and department(s) you have worked in; requirements that were placed on you and how you dealt with them.
- Finally, please critically reflect on your internship insights in light of the social and educational tasks of your internship position. You should also compare your initial expectations of the internship with your actual experiences (To what extent were you able to apply your study content in practice? Did the internship open up any job prospects for you? Did the internship have an impact on your future studies and/or on your choice of career)?
The internship report is treated like a term paper at the Institute of Educational Research. It will be reviewed confidentially and, if necessary, only passed on to third parties with your consent.
It goes without saying that your name, the subjects you are studying, your matriculation number as well as the date of submission must be stated in front of the report.
The length should be between three and five pages.
The report must be submitted electronically. A printout is not required.
