Equality at our faculty

Implementing equal opportunities and equity is a central theme at RUB and our faculty.

The decentralized Equal Opportunities Officers at our faculty support the central Equal Opportunities Officers at RUB in achieving their diverse goals.

What we offer, among other things:

  • Continuing education measures for colleagues of all status groups
  • (Financial) support for workshops for female researchers and measures for their networking
  • Advice on financial support for childcare and travel allowances for our female employees and students
  • Participation in Boys' and Girls' Day

Walk Safe

Since the beginning of this year, Ruhr University has contracted with a new security company. Anyone who feels unsafe or uncomfortable while walking to the parking garage, cycling, or using a bus stop at RUB can request a security guard to accompany them on campus. Escorts can be requested 24/7. All they need to do is call: within the university, landline extension -27001, or mobile phone number +49 234 32 27001 (Tip: it's best to save this number in your contacts and mark it as a favorite). This service is free of charge for all students, employees, researchers, teachers, and guests of the university. It is offered by the Infrastructure Facility Management Department, supported by the Anti-Discrimination Office, the Equal Opportunities Office, and the anti-sexism campaign "Our Campus."
