Thank you for your interest in a doctorate at the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Science. The training and support of young academics is of great importance to us. We shall be happy to accompany you in your next steps after completing your university studies.
The doctoral procedure at our faculty is regulated by the doctoral regulations of the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Science. The Faculty of Philosophy will award the degree of “Doctor of Philosophy” (Dr. phil.) on the basis of an ordinary doctoral procedure. Instead of the German doctoral degree, the international equivalents “Ph.D. in Philosophy” or “Ph.D. in Education in Learning Sciences” can be awarded upon request.
here you will find an overview of the completed doctoral procedures of the last year.
Before you start planning a doctorate, you will first have to find out whether you meet the requirements for a doctorate at our faculty, and subsequently get in touch with a supervisor who is suitable (in terms of subject/content). Therefore, please read the doctoral regulations of our faculty first.
Under the heading "Procedure of the doctoral process" you will find a short overview of the formal steps of the doctoral process at our faculty. Complete information and binding regulations, as well as all forms for a doctorate at our faculty, can be found in the section "Regulations and Forms".
