The new Bachelor (PO 2016 / Examination regulations 2016)

Since winter semester 2016/2017 we have a new examination regulation (PO 2016) for the Bachelor’s degree programme. You can complete it.

In general, the main features of this study programme can be explained as follows:

  • The study is divided into five perspectives, through which educational science is taught
  • Research methods and techniques is shown in grey

Vier Perspektiven

  • Each perspective has two modules in the Bachelor’s degree programme. Some of them are compulsory, others are not
  • One basic module (GM = Grundlagenmodul) must be taken from each area (GM 1: Education and upbringing, GM 2: Learning and development, GM 3: Socialisation, GM 4: Places, forms and media of learning, GM 5: Techniques for academic research).

Gm Zuordnung

  • One advanced module (AM) must be chosen from the first three areas (AM 1: Theory and history of Education and Educational Science, AM 2: Teaching and learning from a pedagogical-psychological perspective, AM 3: Education and society).
  • All of the remaining advanced modules are compulsory (AM 4: Practices of learning, AM 5: Empirical research methods for Educational Science, AM 6: Statistics for Educational Science)

Am Zuordnung

Final Exams:

  • Each foundation module (!) consists of three parts:
    • Part 1: Introduction [3 introductory seminars & one lecture].
    • Part 2: Consolidation [senior seminar]
    • Part 3: Final exam [term paper or written exam].
  • Module grade = grade of the MAP (GM 5 remains completely ungraded).
  • The form of the final module examination (term paper or written exam) can be chosen freely, except for GM 5 (term paper).
  • In the end it counts: three with term papers, two with written exams.

Kreisdiagramm)

(Σ 52 CP, which are counted)
  • -    For the foundation modules, two two module grades can be counted towards the subject grade, from which the student can choose: thus, the best ones count.
  • -    For the advanced modules, all four module grades count towards the subject grade (Please see the pie chart below).
