In all courses that you attend, you must actively participate, be it in the preparation or wrap-up or in the execution itself, be it in presence or digitally. The instructor will then credit you with "active participation" in the relevant course in the eCampus web client. This means that you have "passed" the relevant part of the module. However, credit points are not shown ("n. a." means "not given"). Please check promptly after the end of the respective lecture period whether all these entries have been made! They can be found in eCampus under "Manage/edit my credits". They are often the prerequisite for attending a more advanced course.
At the latest after you have completed all parts of a module, you will take a module exam that is graded. You must register for this module examination within a defined period of time, which is a cut-off deadline. The Faculty's Academic Examinations Office publishes the deadlines on its website and sends a circular email to all students each semester with the relevant information.
In this circular mail, you will also be informed about the content-related and formal requirements you have to fulfill in order to register for a specific examination. Likewise, the technical procedure will be explained to you.
After a successfully passed exam, the Academic Examination Office of the Faculty will enter the grade, not - as it is the case with the courses - in an unordered list of credits, but under the menu item "Module-specific credits". Please check promptly after the exam you have taken (and not at the end of your studies) whether the grade has been entered. Please refrain from assigning these module-specific performance records to the study programme - a higher-level menu item; this leads to technical difficulties that are time-consuming to resolve.
Only when you have successfully completed all parts of a module and the corresponding module exam, you have to become active and combine these elements into a complete module yourself. You can also find out how to do this at the Faculty's Academic Examination Office. Through this process, the module will be given the total sum of credit points earned and assigned to the course of study and subject.
This system helps you to get an overview of your study progress and is, for example, also necessary for the proof of the required achievements for the application of BAföG or for the registration of the Bachelor thesis. In such cases, please contact the relevant subject advisor, stating your matriculation number, who will check your ordered record and confirm its correct scope with a signature.
