Entry into the Bachelor of Arts programme

Here, first-year students can find all important information on entering the B.A. in Education.

Overview

The Bachelor's programme in Educational Studies is offered exclusively in the 2-subject model. This programme is polyvalent, which means that after earning a bachelor's degree, you can decide whether or not to continue your studies at the master's level, and if so, whether or not to pursue it as a teaching degree. In any case, the Bachelor's programme offers you a sound theoretical and methodological education.

A special feature of the educational science programme at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum is that it focuses on pedagogical forms of action (showing, imparting, advising and more) instead of pedagogical fields of action. The focus is on learning processes with digital media.

Students who want to become teachers at grammar schools and comprehensive schools after completing their bachelor's degree can choose their future teaching subjects from a catalog of 22 subjects. Already in the bachelor's programme, students can take courses in the "profile teaching profession" in the so-called optional area
